Edmund J. Oman
Ed, a Florida CPA for over 20 years, is the President and co-owner of Berden-Oman International, Inc. Ed graduated Summa Cum Laude with a dual degree in Accounting and Computer Science from Florida Southern College. Ed was also awarded the Arthur Young and Company Award for Academic Excellence in 1977. Oman’s career began in CPA firms and quickly moved into the financial services industries. He advanced to Chief Operations Officer of a large local financial institution and was also an officer of their mortgage company. He was responsible for starting a full service credit union for the employees of the Home Shopping Network and remained there as President for several years. HSN then asked Ed to assist with starting a subsidiary specializing in credit card processing and exception management for third parties. In this position he worked with the Boards of Visa International, Mastercard, American Express and Disclover to increase credit card acceptance in new markets.
Ed also served as Assistant Director of Information Systems for Pinellas County Government in Florida. Pinellas County is known as one the more progressive IT departments in municipal government nationally. Here, Ed oversaw the implementations of Oracle Financials, Autodesk GIS related systems and other Oracle based applications. Oman also owned a very successful retail floral operation with Berden for over 10 years. Ed has also served as top executive for a local group of title companies and real estate related companies. Ed holds a current Florida Real Estate and Mortgage Broker’s license that enabled him and partner Berden to establish their Mortgage Broker business. Oman’s experience in business management, finance, accounting and information technology allows the company to make available a wide range of expertise to meet their clients’ needs.
