Peter D. Berden
A native of Northern Michigan, Peter moved to Florida after graduating from Ferris State University and began his professional career in financial services in 1983. Berden promoted quickly to Vice President of Finance for a large financial institution only four years out of college. His ability to hire the right people for his team made his career take off. Berden then moved to the healthcare industry. He worked as a top executive to put key performance measures into struggling companies. Soon these companies were sold to a large hospital conglomerate because of their impressive profitability, success and reputation in the communities served. He also set up the structure for a new home health agency for St. Josephs' Hospital in Tampa.  This helped hone his "people" skills and solidified him as an expert in organizational development, process implementation and performance management.
 
Berden is not new to consulting. He started a healthcare staffing company and was very successful placing staff into various healthcare facilities. Peter also has a natural creative side where he and his business partner Ed Oman owned a very successful retail floral operation in Palm Harbor, FL. He has done interior design work for customers and has decorated the Florida Governor’s mansion for the holidays for the last 9 years. Peter has won numerous awards in floral design competitions throughout the state of Florida. After selling the shop, Berden worked with a large real estate title company that assisted buyers and sellers in selling their own homes. Berden quickly learned this business and was promoted to Vice President of Training and Development for this group of real estate related companies. He trained numerous transaction agents on how to work with buyers and sellers on writing their real estate sales contracts and taught them how to be a title closer for the deal. Since then Peter has become a Real Estate Broker and has a current Florida Mortgage Broker’s license. Berden still has a love for design and likes to help people learn how to do things on their own. This is one of the reasons Berden and Oman are labeled “HOW TO CONSULTANTS”.   
 
 
 
Edmund J. Oman
Ed, a Florida CPA for over 20 years, is the President and co-owner of Berden-Oman International, Inc. Ed graduated Summa Cum Laude with a dual degree in Accounting and Computer Science from Florida Southern College. Ed was also awarded the Arthur Young and Company Award for Academic Excellence in 1977. Oman’s career began in CPA firms and quickly moved into the financial services industries. He advanced to Chief Operations Officer of a large local financial institution and was also an officer of their mortgage company. He was responsible for starting a full service credit union for the employees of the Home Shopping Network and remained there as President for several years.  HSN then asked Ed to assist with starting a subsidiary specializing in credit card processing and exception management for third parties.  In this position he worked with the Boards of Visa International, Mastercard, American Express and Disclover to increase credit card acceptance in new markets.
 
Ed also served as Assistant Director of Information Systems for Pinellas County Government in Florida.  Pinellas County is known as one the more progressive IT departments in municipal government nationally. Here, Ed oversaw the implementations of Oracle Financials, Autodesk GIS related systems and other Oracle based applications. Oman also owned a very successful retail floral operation with Berden for over 10 years. Ed has also served as top executive for a local group of title companies and real estate related companies. Ed holds a current Florida Real Estate and Mortgage Broker’s license that enabled him and partner Berden to establish their Mortgage Broker business. Oman’s experience in business management, finance, accounting and information technology allows the company to make available a wide range of expertise to meet their clients’ needs.
